“The miraculous is everywhere and in everything. Waiting for us to notice it. Waiting for us to appreciate it. Waiting for us to love it.”

This is a story about noticing the little things, the grand big things, the imaginary, and sometimes, hidden things. It’s a tale about embracing what’s possible. Written by New York Times best-selling author Kobi Yamada, Noticing follows the discoveries of a painter and her young protégé. Together, they explore what it means to observe with your heart, and use your imagination to expand your vision.

With whimsical watercolor illustrations, this beautiful children’s book is an invitation to slow down and notice that the incredible is everywhere, and in everything—waiting to be known. And to realize that when we take the time to truly observe the beauty and magic around us each day, we begin to understand the promise and potential that is available to us all.

Amazing how much goes on around us that goes unnoticed. This book will inspire you to look up & around, not missing the details of life. Written with gentleness & kindness, art work is terrific!

I love Compendium

I am so pleased with these purchases for my grandchildren.
I think it is so important to instill these thoughts from an early age.
Thank you Compendium!

Noticing

This picture book is perfect for haiku poets--or any poet, artist, or creative soul. Kobi Yamada inspires us to use our imagination to see what is everywhere around us and to sense what is unseen, yet abundantly around us. He affirms we all are unique and we all matter.
I'm a poet/artist. Before I write each morning. I read this book and my poems flow out upon my pages in words and phrases that beat my heart. Lovely. Deep. Calling to be enjoyed again and again.
Thank you Kovi for writing this inspiring piece of work and finding the talented artist Elsie Hurst to capture and explode your inspiration in beauty across the pages.

This book is amazing. The copy, the illustrations--everything! It is right up my alley as an artist turned dancer and now choreographer who spends a great deal of time developing the next generation of dancers and choreographers. Observation is KEY to a career in the Arts (and I assume most professional ventures). Taking the time to notice is probably also an antidote toward mental well being, as well.

Thank you!!

I LOVE Kobi and his extraordinary illustrating partners and have SO many of his books on our living room coffee table. Not a morning goes by that I don’t pick one up with my morning cup of joe. Can’t imagine a better way to start the day with so much goodness to add to my gladness :u1F970:. If only I could keep a full collection going because I give the books as gifts too…they’re born to be shared!! Thank you SO much Kobi!!

Noticing is another beautiful book

Noticing is another beautiful book by Kobi Yamada. I have purchased all of his books many times. They are showcase books on my living room shelf, and I have given them as gifts more times than I can count.

I also volunteer to read in elementary school classrooms, and always bring one of his books with me to read to the children. In addition, I use them as a jumping off point for writing exercises for my college classes.
